Those interested in the A testimony category often ask the following questions:

❔ Use testimony in a sentence?

The pastor gave his testimony of salvation to the congregation.

❔ What is a sentence for testimony?

He made a testimony toward the judge.

❔ How do you gain a testimony?

This is my personal thoughts on the subject of testimonies. I have listened to many testimonies about how people have been touched by God and how God has worked wonders in their lives. After listening to wonderful testimonies I have heard other people exclaim, "I wish I had a testimony like that to give." They are wrong because they do have a testimony. They do not have to go through the fires of hell in order to have a great testimony. A testimony does not mean that something bad happened and God made it good. If you have been raised by loving Godly parents and went to a wonderful church and never needed for a thing, then you have a testimony. You are living proof that God has kept you and your family under His protection. You are proof that if you follow Jesus then you can live a wonderful life. Gloom and doom does not mean that their testimony is better than yours. All testimonies are equal. If you can profess that God has changed your life or always guided your life then be joyful. That is your testimony. Also, now this is the important part so pay attention. Your testimony is not your testimony! It is Gods testimony! It is what Jesus has done in your life. Not what you have done with it. Some people thrive on "Their testimony". Give all the glory to God for the good that He has done.

❔ How do you get a testimony?

  1. Desire to Know. This is the first step in gaining any kind of knowledge.
  2. Ask God in Sincere Prayer…
  3. Bear Your Testimony.
  4. Partake of the Sacrament.

❔ What is a antonym for testimony?

There is no antonym for testimony. One cannot prove wrong a person's belief of what they think is true, or their testimony of truth. However, testimony is a synonym for "admissions", (to admit to knowing). The antonym for admissions is "denial", which means to have no testimony of a belief or truth.

Whose testimony is of greatest importance in establishing the authorship of the gospel of mark?

Papias, a venerated second-century Church Father is believed to have decided that the previously anonymous Gospel of Mark was written by Mark, the young companion of Paul. Mark is mentioned as a 'fellowprisoner in Christ' (Philemon 24), as a cousin of Barnabas (Colossians 4:10) and even as son of Peter (1 Peter 5:13). If all of these testimonies were correct, as Papias probably believed, then it could well be true that Mark might have written the gospel that now bears his name.Paul's brief mention of Mark as a 'fellowprisoner in Christ' is certainly not sufficient to make Mark a likely candidate as the author. The reference in Colossians to Mark as being related to Barnabas would suggest that Mark was part of the inner circle and could have been entrusted with writing the gospel, if only Paul had really been the author of this epistle. The reference in First Peter to Mark as Peter's son, whether as an actual member of Peter's family or in the spiritual sense, would have been of greatest importance in choosing Mark as the likely author of the gospel since Peter might well have chosen Mark as his secretary. The importance of testimony now has to be weighed up in terms of whether that testimony is correct. The consensus of New Testament scholars is that Colossians was written in Paul's name during the eighties of the first century, long after Paul had died, and can therefore not be regarded as providing a true record of a relationship between Mark and Barnabas. 1 Peter is not believed to have been written by Peter but is considered a second-century pseudepigraphical work. Since there is no first-century record of Mark as related to, or even close to Peter, this testimony should be dismissed. To the Church Fathers of the second century, the testimony in 1 Peter was no doubt of greatest importance in accepting Mark as the likely author of the gospel that now bears his name, but modern scholars say that we do not know who the author was.

One difference is that a gospel is a scripture, usually written as a biography. Another is that a biography tells us facts about events in the life of the subject person or about his personality. If the biography is found not to be substantially factual it is no longer a biography. On the other hand, a gospel remains a gospel whether or not it is factual. While Christians will insist that the four New Testament gospels are indeed factual, there were other gospels written, that modern Christians will recognise as substantially non-factual.
